West Coast wows Archbishop!
West Coast Wilderness Railway

In recognition of Archbishop Doyle's impending retirement, Principal Mr Rod Linhart, together with the staff and students of St Joseph's Queenstown, presented the Archbishop with a ticket to the West Coast Wilderness Railway.

This adventure has been on the Archbishop's wish list for a long time, so when a break in his busy schedule gave him the opportunity to visit this renowned tourist destination, the tour was booked.  Fr Mike Delaney, Parish Priest of the West Coast, was the lucky one to accompany the Archbishop and they both thoroughly enjoyed this part of Tasmania’s unique rail heritage.

During the five hour journey they stopped at stations of the past, took in spectacular views as they passed over bridges towering above the rivers below, travelled through massive hand-hewn rock cuttings and under the protective canopies of ancient rainforests and along the edge of plunging gorges. They were both absolutely WOWED!!!
