St Mary's Graduation

Good bye and God’s Blessing to Grade 12s.
Graduation ceremonies are rites of passage for students all around the world. Students at Catholic Colleges in Tasmania are no different. There are many Masses and ceremonies around the state as the school year draws to a close.

As our Senior Secondary students will soon face their examinations and final assessments, the time of formal classes is over for many of them and the ceremonies mark this. Photos are from the Graduation Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral on Friday October 28 where St Mary’s College Grade 12 students were farewelled. A most moving occasion, with Mass concelebrated by the Archbishop Adrian Doyle and Father Gerald Quinn.  An acknowledgement of each girl’s time at the College, was attended by families, friends, fellow students and college staff.

We wish all students well in their final weeks.

The Blessing written by the late Sr Philippa Chapman was sung by everyone assembled at St Mary’s and it expresses our hopes for all school leavers:

May the Lord look upon you with kindness
And give you His peace.
May He free you from all anxiety
and make your worries cease.
May He hear your every prayer
and guide your way in His love.
May He keep you safe forever from all harm.

May your days be blessed with friendship
And your home with His grace.
May you always be blessed by His presence
With you in every place.
May courage and faith walk beside you
May you grow in His love day by day.
And in love may you strengthen each other forever. Amen.
