Polish Christmas at Rosary Gardens

The Hobart Polish Community supports residents of Rosary Gardens with monthly Polish Mass and Spotkanie, or get-togethers. The Polish residents value these opportunities greatly, but they are also appreciated by non-Polish residents and staff.

In December, Mass was celebrated for Christmas and after Mass, the Polish volunteers provided Polish cake and other delicacies while everyone listened to beautiful music from a lovely young group of singers and instrumentalists including flautist, Father Stan. Father Stanislaw Wrona SChr is chaplain to the Polish Community and is based at St Therese’s Church in Moonah.

Did you know that in Poland people call Christmas Eve the Festival of the Star?

Families often don't eat until it gets dark and they see the first star.

Then they feast with gusto, but they always leave a place at the table for the Christ Child.

Do we always leave a place in our hearts for the Christ Child?
