Living Sustainably Forum

Parish priests, members of Church Agencies and Organisations as well as Principals of Catholic Schools and Colleges have been invited to a Living Sustainably Forum at the end of March.

In response to the Vision and Mission Statement of the Archdiocese and its commitment to ecological sustainability, a forum for shared reflection and discernment is being held for all Catholic schools and agencies on Saturday 31st March, 10.00-4.30pm, at St Virgil’s College.

Archbishop Doyle will be present to speak about the importance of this aspect of the Church's Mission.

Mr Paul Lucas, a school Principal from the Townsville Diocese, will share the journey the diocese has taken, under the leadership of Bishop Michael Putney, in developing a diocesan response to the Church’s call for ecological conversion.

Schools, parishes and agencies in Townsville have worked in many practical ways to implement local initiatives.

Archbishop Doyle said, "It is very important that we find ways to address this aspect of our Archdiocesan Mission, which states: We are inspired by the Holy Spirit of God to use our gifts in the service of others and as stewards of creation.
