Gracefest Tasmania 2016

Joy and celebration of the Catholic faith will be captured by Gracefest, a youth event being held in Hobart in March.

To be held on Saturday March 5 at St Peter’s Hall, St Mary’s College, the evening of prayer and worship will include special performances from Christian singer, Steven Kirk.

There will also be food stalls available during the evening’s celebrations, at a small expense.

Archbishop Julian said the spirit of joy would be an underlying element of the event.

“When young people come together, particularly when they gather together because of their faith, there is a natural joy, excitement and celebration,” he said.

“Gracefest will be reflecting the spirit of events such as the Australian Youth Festival and World Youth Day.”

Archbishop Julian said the event was aimed at highlighting the importance of the Catholic faith as a basis for happiness.

“Young people…sense that the Christian life is a life that brings joy, a life that is full of hope,” he said.

“It’s where relationships are founded that are very healthy and life-giving.

“When people come to something like Gracefest they say, ‘Yes, this is what it really means to be a Christian.’”

Gracefest Tasmania is free to attend, and is fully supervised. Attendance is by registration only.
