Music is a unique gift from God that enables us to enter more fully into prayer.

Singing expresses the exaltation of the spirit and the unity of those gathered. It is a universal language that helps us celebrate, express the depths of our soul and offer praise and thanksgiving to God.

Music Ministry is a powerful way to serve the prayer of the Church. By using their gifts, collaborating with others and increasing their understanding of the prayer of the Church, musicians create a more open environment for communication with the divine and those who gather for prayer.

Resources

The Pastoral Musicians' Network was formed in 2006. It aims to support the work of pastoral musicians in the Archdiocese. Its main focus is the publication of the e-newsletter Rite Notes which contains catechetical articles, questions and answers, some useful ideas, reviews and news. It is published about twice a year. Questions and ideas are often submitted from network members.

The Musicians' network is open to any involved in liturgical music ministry in catholic parishes, congregations, groups and schools. Membership has extended to musicians in dioceses outside of Tasmania.

To subscribe to the free newsletter please send name, address, email and the name of your
